Concrete Utopia (2023), directed by Uhm Tae-hwa, is a dystopian thriller set in the aftermath of a catastrophic earthquake that has leveled most of Seoul. The Hwang Gung apartment complex is one of the only structures left standing, and its surviving residents quickly establish a closed community governed by increasingly harsh rules to exclude outsiders and ration dwindling resources. Lee Byung-hun plays Young-tak, a charismatic and authoritarian resident leader whose grip on the community tightens as desperation grows, while Park Seo-jun and Park Bo-young portray an ordinary couple whose moral convictions are tested by survival pressures. The film uses its disaster premise to dissect class anxiety, community tribalism, and the fragility of civil norms under extreme conditions. It was selected for the competition section of the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, and Lee Byung-hun's commanding performance was widely cited as one of the highlights of Korean cinema that year.

El complejo de apartamentos Hwang Gung es una de las únicas estructuras que quedan en pie, y sus residentes supervivientes establecen rápidamente una comunidad cerrada, gobernada por normas cada vez más severas para excluir a los forasteros y racionar los menguantes recursos. Lee Byung-hun interpreta a Young-tak, un carismático y autoritario líder vecinal cuyo control sobre la comunidad se afianza a medida que crece la desesperación, mientras que Park Seo-jun y Park Bo-young encarnan a una pareja corriente cuyas convicciones morales se ven puestas a prueba por las presiones de la supervivencia.
